Get Better Efficiency With 36V Mini Chainsaws

Top Rated 36V Mini Chainsaws

Why would you want a 36V Mini Chainsaw rather than say a 24V Battery powered Mini Saw.

The answer is in the power. Generally speaking a 36V battery powered tool will be more powerful and efficient than the equivalent 24V powered tool. So that difference is perhaps worth taking into consideration when buying a mini chainsaw.

However, when we consider 36V mini chainsaws there are not too many of those in the market. But some of them are real winners and deserve close scrutiny.

Lets start with the King of the Castle, Numero Uno, The Champion…..you get the picture ๐Ÿ™‚

The Awesome Omola

36 V battery mini chainsawCombine a 4-inch bar with a brushless motor and a 36V battery and you have a whizz bang of a mini chainsaw.

The combination of the brushless motor and battery gives a chain speed of just over 14m/sec which is phenomenal for any mini chainsaw!

Add in the self lubricating function, the chain baffle and a carry case and you have the ideal mini chainsaw which will cope with most gardening tasks.

Also, despite the battery size, it weighs in at 1.9kg and has a total length of only 16.6 inches (42,5cm). That means that just about anybody can pick it up and use it.

As with every mini chainsaw it has its little foibles that you need to be aware of. Chiefly this revolves around the oiling system which will leak if you get things wrong.

So – don’t over fill the oil tank incorporated in the mini saw (max one third full) and store the saw upright.

Other than that, no one has really found anything to beef about! Except availability which has unfortunately been patchy!

Next lets look at a 6-inch bar mini saw with a 36V battery.

Prodcyc 6-inch bar 36V Mini Chainsaw

6 inch 36V mini chainsawThis is an interesting one as it also comes in a 4-inch bar and 8-inch bar configuration. All of them feature 36V battery power.

Back to the 6 inch version.

In comparison with the Omola (above) it also has an automatic oiler and chain guard and comes with an assortmentย  of extras and a case.

Now the conundrum. This one has a bigger bar but it does not have a brushless motor!

Add to that its chainspeed is noted at 13 ft/sec. That is much slower than that of the Omola at 14m/sec which is basically three times faster!

Having said that, The Prodcyc is more than capable of doing the normal jobs required of a mini chainsaw around the garden. And of course, the slightly longer chain bar might be the deciding factor.

And if its still difficult to separate the two in your mind, then are the extra battery and chain offered in this package enough to sway your thinking?

Or you can compare with other 6-inch bar mini chainsaws that DO have a brushless motor ๐Ÿ™‚

Or you could go down market a bit (price wise)

The 6 Inch Beaspire 36V Mini Saw

6 inch 36V mini chainsawThe Beaspire is an interesting choice as it does not have a brushless motor but still runs at a cracking pace (13.3 m/s).

That should ensure it cuts through appropriately sized timber/branches at an impressive rate!

Looking at the “package”, this one also has an inbuilt oiler for the bar and chain so that saves you carrying a little bottle of oil around with you.

It also comes with 2 batteries, 3 chains and a carry case.

At the time of writing this was substantially cheaper than the Prodcyc above.

At the end of the day, many confirmed buyers have been happy with the job this mini saw has done for them.

Both this one and the Prodcyc have a similar number of reviews and ratings at the time of writing

Perceptions change over time If you are in the market for a 36V 6-inch bar mini saw then it might be a good idea to check them both out and see if this neck and neck situation has changed and one is now noticeably ahead of the other.

Lets now look at two 4-inch bar mini chainsaws that are powered by 36V batteries.

The GOYQGLE Mini Chainsaw

4 inch 36V mini chainsawThis mini chainsaw could be seen as the “best of the rest” after the Omola.

So when comparing to the (incomparable) Omola, this mini saw does not have a brushless motor fitted and has no self oiling mechanism. It has a claimed chain speed of 6m/sec.

However, it comes with 2 bars (unusual), 2 chains, 2 batteries, charger and a case. That is quite a package!

Despite the 36V battery, remember that this is a small, light tool that is not capable of working for long periods of time or cutting through branches thicker than say 3 inches.

But it will do a superb job doing small bits and pieces with time to rest between assignments.

Oh and remember. No self oiling mechanism so you need to carry a little oil bottle around with you and oil the bar and chain at regular intervals. That will also prolong its lifespan.

So if you have realistic expectations about what a 4-ich bar mini chainsaw can achieve for you, then this could be a great choice for you.

However if you are sitting on the fence then, in direct competition, we have:

The Teamoonmy

36 V mini chainsawThe three most obvious differences between this one and the GOYQGLE are:

  • the lack of a trigger guard
  • Chain baffle is completely different in style/design/concept
  • no box to put it all in.

One buyer complained the engine smoked out after he had only sawed through 3 hard wood planks!

Not sure what he thought he had bought but really, these tools are not designed for that sort of work! There are more appropriate tools for that kind of job!!

So again, this is a good package that will do the light jobs around the garden or while out camping etc.

Don’t expect miracles at this price! ๐Ÿ™‚

To Conclude

How important is the 36V battery in the greater scheme of things.

Probably not that important interms of what you would need a mini chainsaw to do.

The Omola is a beast, but there are plenty of other 4-inch bar and 6-inch bar chainsaws that are not powered by a 36V battery that will do the job for you.

So while there is nothing wrong with looking for a mini chainsaw in the 36V category, perhaps it should not be the single deciding factor in making a buying decision?

Over to you ๐Ÿ™‚
