Many Mini Chainsaws come without a carry case to store them in, which is a pity.

And even those that do have a case usually don’t come with a carry holster.

One of the basic advantages of a mini chainsaw is that it is easy to work with.

However, the one thing missing from this picture is how to carry it around with you while working with it. This is especially true if you are pruning a garden and are constantly on the move.

In these instances, its nice to have both hands available to carry pruned foliage or push a wheelbarrow or any number of other tasks you might need to do that don’t actually involve using the mini saw.

It’s here that a mini chainsaw carry pouch or holster becomes really useful.

Now you might even get a carry case with the mini chainsaw you purchase but in most cases this is because, along with the mini saw comes a whole lot of extra stuff. Read batteries, chains, battery charger and so on.

In other words, this type of carry case is more designed like a storage case where you can keep everything together in one place. It is not designed as a work accessory which will help you when working with the chainsaw in the field.

Enter the Mini Chainsaw Carry Case or holster (or both!)

The carry case (sometimes referred to as a pouch) above left is designed for both storing and carrying your mini chainsaw. Apart from housing the actual saw, it has room for a few other things. These could include a battery charger or chain sharpening file and so on. It zips closed so ensure nothing falls out when moving around. It also protects the contents from dust, moisture and so on when used for storing the saw.

In this regard. it is compatible with almost all brands of 4-inch, 5-inch, 6-inch cordless battery-powered mini chain saws.

The Mini Chainsaw HolsterĀ is designed specifically for keeping it close to you while you are working. While “quick draw” might stretch the “going into battle” image a bit, there is no doubt that this is a handy addition to have.

It can also accommodate a number of bits and pieces that might come in handy on the run. While you could use it to store a mini chainsaw, the enclosed case would obviously be a better choice for that function.

To summarize. Both the carry case and holster can do the job of storing and freeing up your hands while working. Neither however, is designed to do both jobs.

The ideal then would be to get one of each and cover all storage and working requirements!
