6 Inch Mini Chainsaws with Oilers

The Best 6 inch Mini Chainsaws with Oilers.

There are a number of 6 inch mini chainsaws with oilers on the market. The interesting conundrum is that their prices vary widely due to other factors unrelated to the oiler feature. The trick then is to decide which of these other features are important to you, and which aren’t!

Lets start at the top of the class!

There are two mini chainsaws that stand out in this category. The one is the Imoumlive pictured and discussed below.

The other is the Milwaukee M12 Fuel Hatchet which is considerably more expensive than any other 6-inch bar mini chainsaw with an oiler. Its probably worth it, but you will need to make up your mind about that! You can find out more about it HERE!

The Imoumlive 6-inch Mini Saw

6 inch mini chainsaw with oiler. The Imoumlive (pictured left) is top of the pile because it also features a brushless motor! A brushless motor has so many advantages over a normal brushed motor that this feature just about outweighs everything else.

Added to that is the fact that if a manufacturer is going to bother to use a brushless motor, then it makes sense to ensure that the rest of the product is up to scratch.

So basically we have an inbuilt oiling system AND a brushless motor combined in a 6-inch mini chainsaw! That’s a win/win 🙂

Lets take a closer look at the oiling system which is there to provide lubrication to the bar and chain. By regularly oiling the bar and chain you decrease the friction between their two interacting surfaces when the saw is working.

This regular oiling increases the longevity of the chain, bar and, in fact, the entire tool!

This oil delivery system is not entirely automated though.

  • You need to add bar & chain oil to the oil tank – obviously!
  • You need to press the inbuilt oiler (soft transparent) button from time to time to oil the bar and chain.

That’s much easier and faster than having to carry your own little bottle of oil around with you to lubricate the bar and chain from time to time.

Mess Alert! Chainsaws in general and of all sizes leak oil! Its a chainsaw thing. You can minimise or avoid this situation by:

  • not filling the oil tank to the brim. Actually only filling it about one third is a good idea….and that’s still plenty enough to keep everything running smoothly for most jobs.
  • When you store the tool, make sure the delivery system is upright so that no residual oil should leak out.

So you get a brushless chainsaw with an inbuilt oiler and a few other things to sweeten the deal such as:

  • a spare chain
  • second battery
  • some appropriate tools
  • a carry or storage case to keep everything together in one place.

That’s not a bad package!

The Imoumlive’s closest competition is

The Oicgoo

6 inch mini saw with oiler
There is little to choose between this Oicgoo mini saw and the Imoumlive above.

They both boast a brushless motor which places them ahead of anything with a brushed motor!

The main difference is that Oicgoo also has 21V batteries but they are rated slightly lower than the ones for the Imoumlive (1,5Ah vs 2Ah).

The implication of this is that you will get more working time out of a single Imoumlive battery than a single Oicgoo battery.

This is reflected in some of the comments about short battery life.

On a positive note, Oicgoo makes a range of mini saws and so have a track record and experience in making small battery driven tools!

If you compare what is on offer as a total package, then there is very little to choose between the two. They both supply a second battery, a second chain, a battery charger, a variety of essential tools as well as a carry case.

The only (marginally) significant difference is the battery issue.

Your call! 🙂

So lets now head into brushed motor territory. The first thing you will notice is the price drops by a not insignificant amount but then, so does the performance!

The Movehii

6 inch mini chainsaw with oilerTowards the top end of this category you will find this Movehii mini chainsaw.

Three interesting observations about this mini saw.

First is chain speed. If the 26ft/sec (7,9m/s) is accurate then that is not a bad chain speed for a mini chainsaw at all!

Second. The chain brake is an unusual, albeit welcome, feature on a chainsaw this size.

Third. The battery meter counts down from 100(%) which seems preferable to the normal color bar which you are never sure when yellow is going to go red!

And of course the inbuilt oiler.

So overall not a bad option given that it matches all the other packages in terms of an extra chain, extra battery and storage or carry case mini chainsaws.

The Seesii

6 inch mini chainsaw with oilerThe Seesii has the advantage that i comes from a stable of mini chainsaws and so is not a once off.

This one does not have a brushless motor but does have an oiling system built into the tool.

Interestingly, they do make a 6-inch withan inbuilt oiling system.

Strange but true!

You get everything you need to pick up and go plus an extra chain and battery which makes the entire package very enticing given its pricing!

Lastly, we have a “one off” that seems to have stood the test of time better than many of the others.

The Hajack

6-inch mini chainsaw with oilerThe Hajack has been around for a while and has surprisingly good ratings given the price it is being offered at.

The package is very comprehensive with this one even offering 3 chains instead of the more usual two (1 installed and 1 extra).

It also includes a little plastic bottle to use to get oil into the oil tank. By commo consensus, these are not the greatest quality, so be prepared to have to use something else.

To Conclude

There are of course many more mini chainsaws that include some sort of oil dispensing mechanism.

They range quite widely in price and quality.
