The Best TOY Mini Chainsaws for Kids

Find the Best TOY Mini Chainsaws Here!

Best toy Mini ChainsawSo lets be clear.

This post is actually about TOY MINI CHAINSAWS

Its Not about small mini chainsaws, or light mini chainsaws, or 4-inch bar mini saws.
NO – this is about a toy that looks like a chainsaw, sometimes mimics a chainsaw action, but essentially is for young kids to play with!

Hope that is clear and we can move on 🙂

Many people think of genuine mini chainsaws as little more than toys. Wrong assumption! For a start they don’t actually look like a traditional chainsaw. Secondly genuine mini chainsaws will take a finger off in the blink of an eye. They are not to be messed with and certainly not entrusted to young children!!

The mini chainsaws we are going to look at here however are, looks wise at least, mini versions of a traditional chainsaw.

Also, unlike most genuine, working mini chainsaws, you might well recognize some of these brand names!! 🙂

Stihl Mini Toy Chainsaw

Stihl Toy ChainsawThis Stihl Toy Chainsaw has it all!

It looks like a chainsaw and it (sort of) sounds like a chainsaw. It also has a recognizable brand name on it and features that brands well known color scheme.

In fact this little toy has all the parts of a genuine chainsaw including a pull start, a rubber chain that spins, and a chain cover!

Pretty impressive.

Some people have complained that its a bit pricey and that you are paying for the name (Stihl).

But, as you know, you can’t fool a 3 or 4 year old for long. So if you have a Stihl chainsaw and your youngster wants to help out, this might be your only option! 🙂

And besides, it does an awesome job of mimicking a genuine chainsaw.

Husqvarna Plastic Toy Chainsaw

Plastic Toy Mini ChainsawAnother well known chainsaw brand which looks just like their classic gas powered 440 model!

Also makes a noise and has a rotating chain to ensure that it not only LOOKS like the real deal, but acts like it too!

Or almost. Unlike the Stihl above, the pull string can’t be pulled so you are going to have to come up with a story for that obvious difference between your chainsaw and his/hers! 🙂

Also, just be aware that at just over 13 inches long, this is the smallest of the toy chainsaws featured here. The others aren’t much bigger, but this is very definitely “mini”!

Stanley Toy Chainsaw

Stanley Toy ChainsawThis Stanley is just under 17 inches long so not too small. When you pull the trigger it makes a noise and the chain moves which is what chainsaws are all about! 🙂

There have been some mutterings about the chain not fitting very well so you might have to keep an eye on that – as you do with chainsaws proper, so nothing different there.

It also features a Red LED light which is something different.
Then….last but not least

The Hey! Play! Mini Toy Chainsaw

Mini toy chainsawSo this one is not associated with any “big” saw name like the others but it nevertheless is worth looking at as it is very reasonably priced.

It makes a noise, and the chain rotates and best of all, it has an on/off switch which you actually have to use to “start” the saw.

Very cool! 🙂

However, the pull cord, while there, doesn’t pull out so that’s a bit disappointing. Having said that, one less thing to break so perhaps its not a bad idea after all!

In Conclusion

Both boys and girls love playing with mini toy chainsaws and they’re a great way to encourage kids to get outside and play in the dirt – something most kids don’t do enough of nowadays!
